Our latest Employee Spotlight features Hannah Taylor, our Senior HR Officer, who joined Fleetondemand in June 2022.
With a dedicated background in Human Resources, including a degree in HR and Business Management and CIPD Level 5 qualification, Hannah excels at managing all aspects of HR while fostering a positive work environment.
Currently pursuing her CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Strategic Management, her commitment to professional development and employee support has earned her recognition as FOD Legend of the Year.
Outside of work, Hannah is an enthusiastic world record holder, having participated in the largest synchronised Fair-trade banana eating event! Her upcoming adventures include plans for skydiving and travels to Machu Picchu and Japan.
Let's get to know more about Hannah's time at Fleetondemand.
Describe your current role and how long you've worked at Fleetondemand.
I've been with Fleetondemand since June 2022 - almost two and a half years now - as the Senior HR Officer. I manage all aspects of HR within the company, with key responsibilities including overseeing recruitment, employee relations, and ensuring compliance with employment law.
What projects are you currently working on?
I'm currently focused on updating our policies and procedures in response to various employment law changes that have recently been implemented and are upcoming. Additionally, I'm launching and managing our annual performance development reviews for all employees and managers.
What inspired you to pursue your current career path?
My interest in Human Resources began in school while studying business. After several work experience placements in HR, I realised my passion for the field, which led me to pursue a degree in Human Resources and Business Management and earn my CIPD Level 5 qualification. I believe that people are crucial to a company's success, and I love working with them every day.
What do you find most rewarding about your role?
Over the past two years, my role has provided me lots of experience as the business has evolved. It's incredibly rewarding to have the executive team trust my judgment in managing all HR matters. Plus, I genuinely enjoy helping people succeed in their careers.
What have been your proudest moments at work to date?
Winning the FOD Legend of the Year award last year was a standout moment for me. Being nominated by my colleagues and receiving such positive feedback was a proud moment!
What's one professional skill you're working on?
I'm currently studying for my CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Strategic Management. I'm hoping this will further my career and deepen my HR knowledge even more.
What is the best professional advice you've ever received?
My family has encouraged me to pursue what I enjoy and find rewarding - this has shaped my career choice and will always be advice that I follow.
What's a common misconception about People & Culture that you'd like to clarify?
Many people see HR as the "workplace police," focused solely on enforcing rules and handling issues. In reality, my role is about supporting everyone in achieving their best at work. My main goal is to help employees thrive and create a positive, productive work environment.
What do you hope to achieve over the next 12 months?
Professionally, I aim to complete my CIPD Level 7 in the coming months and apply what I've learned to improve employee experiences and HR processes at Fleetondemand. Personally, I'm hoping to buy my first home this year!
How would your friends describe you?
LOUD, unintentionally funny, and kind.
Can you describe the top three items on your bucket list?
Skydiving, visiting Machu Picchu, and travelling to Japan.
If you could meet anyone famous, past or present, who would it be and why?
I'd love to have a cup of tea with David Attenborough; I'm sure he'd have some interesting stories to share.

I hold a Guinness World Record for participating in the most people eating a Fairtrade banana at the same time!
